Students were assigned to a specific IBS strutural system to study and design a 3-storey apartment block using mainly IBS components. In the case of our group, we were given the precast concrete system. We were required to find case studies to support the design. A physical sectional model of the building was produced to show the IBS components in detail together with report to document the design drawings and assembly process of the proposed IBS building.
Project 2 : Construction Solutions
Integrated with the studio design project and aims to facilitate students in the technical study of principles, practices and details of building technology to be applied in student's own design. It deals with the analysis and establishment of the structural and the envelope systems of the student’s design to ensure that the design has logical and workable construction systems. Encouraging students to include construction as part of the design and not just “tools” to build it.
